MOVIES UNDER THE NYC STARS!

NYC parks offers so many free outdoor events such as, concerts, movies, sports, fitness, kids activities, and events for seniors. It was no surprise that the Mayor's office of Media & Entertainment teamed up with NYC Parks for another awesome summer of Movies Under The Stars.

I've lived in NYC for about 9 years now and it wasn't until children that I decided to check it out!

The kids and I stayed out past bed time to attend our first movie a few weekends ago and we loved it.

We got to see Spider Man: Into the Spider-Verse at the Samuel N. Bennerson Playground, surrounded by other families. Let me just say this park was not an easy find however, I didn't come out late to go back home without watching this movie so we persisted until we found it.

There were children everywhere along with an information stand, and free snacks. You do have the option to bring your own so pack a picnic and a nice blanket.

While we waited for the movie to start it rained on and off but, a little rain never hurt nobody so we put a second sheet over our heads and continued to wait for the movie to start. The kids enjoyed buttered popcorn and Italian Ice. I must add that Maliah went to town on the snacks guys 😂! I want to note that if you have a kid that likes being out like, Josiah does prepare yourself for a hard time transitioning from the movie to the stroller ride home LOL. He cried for about 30 minutes but, that could have been because he was tired.

Overall this event was a great experience that I highly recommend for the entire family. There will be more than 150 film screenings to parks throughout the five boroughs so we are definitely attending a few more this summer!
