Remember when you were a kid and your mom told you, you better not jump in that puddle?

A few months ago I took Josiah out on one of our many weekend adventures. This particular weekend was special because It was going to rain that day and I had made plans to let him jump in puddles. Yes, I made plans to let him jump in puddles! When it finally happened he was so happy. He jumped for what seemed like forever and I allowed him to enjoy every minute of it without any instruction on how or where to jump. Many people walked by in amazement! They stared and smiled. One guy even stopped and said,”he’s so lucky!” I started to think about how much children really do enjoy the simplest things in life. You can do so much, with so little if you make the effort. We don’t have to have it all to give them our all. When you think about what our children need, know that they need parents that will invest their time.Take time to come up with creative ways for your children to explore and enjoy themselves without spending any money. It’s actually easier than you think! .

This is so sweet. Yes you have to prep for your kid to jump in the puddles lol. But there’s something about watching them do it. It’s the happiest feeling.
